This font family simulates the smudged effect of type when it is quickly printed onto cardboard and plastics. The designs are actually derived from scans of smudged letters from a cardboard box. When setting type which is intended to mimic the smudged effect of type when it is quickly printed onto cardboard and plastics, the effect can be much more realistic if duplicate letters are smudged or inked a little differently. To help you achieve this illusion, each of the two fonts in this family contain two versions of the uppercase alphabet (the second set is found in the lowercase character slots). This gives you the flexibility to easily mix and match characters for a more dynamic final appearance. As these fonts also do a great job of simulating traditional ink stamps, they are the perfect fonts to use when trying to create a hand-stamped effect in your layouts (e.g. you could use Bellamie to print the word PAID on your invoices).. In the PC version of this font family the style names are slightly different from those used in the Mac versions. But the fonts are otherwise identical.

Magnify Bossman™ Dark
Bossman™ Dark
Bossman™ Dark
B
Typeart Foundry Inc
Bossman is a modern-day ragged interpretation of a decorative font, which was common several decades ago. To appreciate why this font was called Bossman, you must put on your heavy Jamaican accent and say: Dis font are de ruler! This font is BOSS, mon! When using Bossman at larger point sizes, you are likely to type words which use two or more of the same vowel characters. You might find that your design will look more dynamic if you use alternate versions of the duplicate letters. Because the accent characters in this family are slightly different from their unaccented root characters, you can use them whenever you require alternate vowels. Other alternate characters include theletters N, n, S, s, Z and z. After typing the accent character, in your page layout or illustration program, you can then draw a white box and place it over top of the unwanted accent. When using Bossman at smaller point sizes, the Light version is recommended because it is more legible. Although the light version of Bossman is not a whole lot lighter than Bossman Dark, its counters and non-sealed interior spaces (i.e. the spaces inside of some characters, such as the hole in the 0) are considerably wider than those on the dark version. These help the characters to be more distinguishable and legible at smaller point sizes. Therefore, if you are using Bossman to print a block of smaller text, it is recommended that you use the Light version for this purpose.. In the PC version of this font family the style names are slightly different from those used in the Mac versions. But the fonts are otherwise identical.

Magnify Boxcar™ Oblique
Boxcar™ Oblique
Boxcar™ Oblique
B
Typeart Foundry Inc
All of the alphabetical characters and numbers in Boxca were scanned from photographs of actual stencil lettering painted onto the side of Canadian railcars. The Boxcar fonts do not have true lowercase character set, but have an alternate set of uppercase characters in the lowercase character slots. In general, the lowercase versions of the letters are lighter in weight and have slightly less width. An interesting note is that a few of the letters do not exactly match the stencil style of the rest of their family members. These slight variations in character style were actually found mixed in with other text sprayed onto the real boxcars. Just like on older movie theatre signs with moveable plastic letters, we have all seen substituted letters used which are in a different type style or colour (due to letters which have either been lost over time or were lacking enough duplicates of a particular letter). The stencils on the boxcars also displayed this characteristic and is we captured that in this font family to allow you to carry on the realism of the effect. Where such an alternate character exists, you will find a version of that character (in either the upper of lowercase set) which is more akin to the type style of the other letters. Because Boxcar was created to simulate letters hand-stenciled onto surfaces using spraypaint, it was important to maintain a certain amount of slight kerning imperfection. When designing the font, we carefully went through all the normal character combinations looking for places to add kerning pairs and actually had to fight to NOT add kerning in some spots just to maintain that natural flawed look. If you really want your Boxcar to look convincing, you might want to actually set the text in a program such as Adobe Photoshop and blend the type with the scanned photograph of the surface you are planning to set it on. Before you deselect the text, you might want to put scratches through it, or decolour the tops of bottoms of each line of type with a reddish-brown colour resembling rust. Rather than actually colouring the type with a solid colour, using the above method, you might simply lighten the background of your photograph using the type outlines as the selected region, which will allow the actual characteristics of the background to show through onto the apparent colouration of the text.. In the PC version of this font family the style names are slightly different from those used in the Mac versions. But the fonts are otherwise identical.

Magnify Braindead™ Bold

Braindead™ Bold

Typeart Foundry Inc
Although you can create interesting grunge effects at smaller point sizes, these fonts were intended to be used at larger point sizes (greater than 48 point) for the real flavour of the characters to be fully appreciated. These are quite detailed fonts, and therefore look effective in Billboard sizes. When using this typeface at larger point sizes, you are likely to type words which use two or more of the same vowel characters. You might find that your design will look more dynamic if you use alternate versions of the duplicate letters. Because most of the accent characters in this family are slightly different from their unaccented root characters, you can use them whenever you require alternate vowels. After typing the accent character, in your page layout or illustration program, you can then draw a white box and place it on top of the unwanted accent. If you don''t have much printer memory and you try using all 6 of the Braindead and Braindeader fonts at once, you may encounter a postscript error and be unable to print your document. As the characters in these fonts use many more points than the number you would find in non-textured fonts, your printer could run out of memory if you try to print them all. Printing four of them at once will work fine on most basic printer configurations, but you may require more printer memory if you wish to use more than this, or if you wish to print Braindead along with other heavily textured fonts. If you do exceed the limit and encounter printing problems, your RAM-equipped service bureau should still be able to output your pages without any problems.Braindeader is largely a staggered and mixed version of both Braindead Regular and Braindeaª Bold, but also has several unique characters which cannot be found in either of the Braindead fonts.. In the PC version of this font family the style names are slightly different from those used in the Mac versions. But the fonts are otherwise identical.

You can find versions of the following letters in their respective dieresis and circumflex character slots: A, a, E, e, I, i, O, o, U, u, N, n To use them, simply set the accented characters and then mask out the accents above the characters if you want to use them in unaccented text.. In the PC version of this font family the style names are slightly different from those used in the Mac versions. But the fonts are otherwise identical.

This font is based on the style of certain serif-text typefaces from the Deco era of the 1930s and 40s. There are extremely large and sharp serifs on some of the letters (such as the T and E) which give the text a unique Deco flavour. As there are no true lowercase letters in these fonts, the lowercase character slots are filled with Small Cap versions of the uppercase letters. Setting the text in both upper and lowercase is gives a nice fluctuation of the capital letters and Small Caps.. In the PC version of this font family the style names are slightly different from those used in the Mac versions. But the fonts are otherwise identical.

Magnify Boxcar™ Complete Family Pack

Magnify Braindead™ Complete Family Pack

Braindead™ Complete Family Pack
