Itc Woodland Heavy

  • Itc Woodland Heavy
ITC Woodland is a case of East meets West, where Tokyo-based freelance type designer Akira Kobayashi designed a Latin typeface. ITC Woodland is based on Kobayashi's hand lettering using a flat brush or square-edged pen. “I wanted to design each weight to act its own part,” says Kobayashi. “The light version tends to look almost fading in small sizes, but the heavy weight is as black as Cooper Black. In either case, ITC Woodland doesn't look too rigid or unfriendly.” An award-winning designer of Latin alphabets to complement digital Kanji text, Kobayashi sees ITC Woodland as being “useful in graphics, greeting cards, correspondence.” The ITC Woodland family includes four weights: light, medium, demi and heavy.
